I'm Robin Joanne Szuch. I write, coach, and build things for people who are done winging it.
HER STORY
I started in ballet at six years old and knew immediately I wanted to be on a stage. At sixteen, someone I admired told me I'd make a good teacher but was too fat to be a dancer. I believed it long enough to almost let it end things before they'd even started.
It didn't. I built a career in dance and theatre, then found circus, and by 2003 I was touring internationally as a circus artist. Somewhere in there I also worked in veterinary medicine, learning budgeting and management from people who never once mentioned an MBA. In 2013 I went back to the arts for good and built Spectacle Blue Circus Arts, my flagship studio in Okotoks, Alberta.
Today, that whole path is the foundation for Stop Winging It: the book, the coaching, all of it.
HER WAY
I don't have an MBA. I don't have a degree in economics. What I have is a lifetime of experience, a lot of trial and error, and a small handful of mentors I credit by name: Steve, who taught me the fundamentals of running a business. Darren, who showed me budgeting and forecasting didn't require a degree, just attention. Erin, who taught me that feelings don't get to make every decision.
I've built and run a circus arts studio, launched a licensing program to bring that model to other studios, written a book, and coached business owners across a dozen different industries. Not one of them has much in common except the same starting point. Passion A dream. And not much else.
WHY SHE COACHES
My job isn't to climb the mountain alone. It's to grab hold of the people climbing next to me and bring them with me. That's the whole reason Stop Winging It exists. Not to hand anyone a script, but to hand over what actually worked, so they don't have to learn it the same hard way I did.
